The Radford Studio Center Plan modernizes the studio to ensure it will remain a world-class production facility. The significant investment in Studio City and the entertainment industry will help keep production and jobs in Los Angeles, support local business, and establish Radford as a leader in sustainability.
From Lettuce Ranch to Studio Lot
In 1928, at the dawn of talkie films, Mack Sennett – an enterprising silent film actor, director, and producer – transformed a lettuce ranch into a then state-of-the-art motion picture facility. Over the years, Mack Sennett Studios – the namesake of the “Studio City” community – became a hub of job creation and pioneering programming, and a place around which the residential neighborhoods of Studio City grew.
The Radford Studio Center Plan honors the studio’s legacy and reimagines the lot to ensure it will continue to be a world-class production facility for generations to come. By upgrading the studio facilities to meet modern industry standards, the plan will help keep production in Los Angeles and jobs right where they’ve been for nearly a century – steps from home.
An investment in Radford Studio Center is an investment in the local economy.
